Today’s Takeaway from Free Virtual Coffeeshop Group Coaching – via ZOOM – 05 July 2020 is:
Today’s topic centered around freeing oneself from self-imposed or perceived oppression. You know the kind everyone has of self-judgment, self-criticism, and even those familiar to all of us physically restrained because of COVID-19 lockdowns.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today’s big question for our zoom breakout rooms was:
- What can I DO TODAY to create for myself a feeling of empowerment, more self-responsibility, and independence around my topic and challenges?
One of the breakout groups addressed the question:
- How can we make decisions about our true purpose without allowing too much outside interference, some of which is only perceived or imaginary?
Another breakout group exchanged thoughts and ideas around the limitations imposed on our freedoms or liberties forced by COVID-19 restrictions.
Both groups found solutions through developing awareness. It helps us to be merely aware of the presence of these outside influences on our decision-making process to limit their impact to a degree in which they are rather having the function of helpful advice instead of a restrictive limitation. To cope with the outside restrictions imposed by the pandemic, it can be beneficial to become aware of how everyone is affected and shares responsibility for the greater whole.
It’s helpful to have a reminder to ask ourselves:
- What is my role in this crisis (any crisis), and WHAT CAN I DO Today and even RIGHT NOW about it?
Oh, and listen for my “I Can’t Meditation” that came from today’s group coaching.
