Interestingly enough, the general topic of this live coffeeshop coaching centered around personal presence and what reaction consists of individually. So how does one step beyond reacting both personally and professionally?
When emotions get triggered from feeling unfairly criticized or hearing some bad news or something we don’t like hearing, these triggered emotions can inhibit our ability to pause before speaking. Reacting to a situation many times either escalates or causes regrets. We’ve all experienced versions of this. Pausing can help ensure that what one hears is the same as what the other person expresses.

My Challenge to you:
- The next time you find yourself reacting, try pausing and breathing deep into your whole body to center yourself. Then in that moment of pause, tap into the resourcefulness of your entire body. Feel the weight of your body and your feet on the floor. Feel the air on your skin and the blood flowing in your veins. Listen for a response to arise within you, rather than just going with the first reactive thing that pops into your head. Maybe you find in that moment of pause and connection a potential to move beyond reaction and into the more subtle and creative realm of response, that place that allows something new to happen.
